Kim Woo Bin and Park Shin Hye attend the annual Anhui TV Drama Awards

Perhaps you were scrolling through your Weibo (the most popular Chinese microblog for those who don’t know) feed last night…. and you may have discovered that Kim Woo Bin decided to FINALLY UPDATE his status* after months of inactivity. He wrote it in Korean, therefore nobody could understand it without a quick visit to Google Translator, but that didn’t stop the thousands of comments from flowing in, in response to the surprise update. Turns out, his costar Park Shin Hye and himself were in China, at an awards show, representing The Heirs! Why does it make me so excited that it was Kim Woo Bin instead of Lee Min Ho? And it’s Kim Woo Bin’s first time in China! Haha I feel like two worlds are colliding or something… My chinese and korean fandoms that is. In fact, they were the big guests of the night at the annual year-ends Anhui Drama Festival (watched it last year and the year before)! Award show…. meaning lots of adorable, shippy pictures, and gorgeous eye candy all around. Pictures below! Before I forget here’s other people who attended this awards ceremony: Tang Yan, Qi Wei, Luo Jin, Ying’er, Chen Xiao, Zhao Liying, Liu Tao, Bao Jian Feng, Li Yi Feng, Jimmy Lin, Joe Chen, Nicky Wu, Yan Kuan and his wife.

Keep in mind the official pictures and the program are not released yet, so these stills will have to do for now :3

C-couple Feng Shaofeng and Nini get cozy at the airport

The Shanghaiese celebrity couple was spotted in matching couple hats and holding hands publicly at an airport. Cute cute!

This is my first time seeing Feng Shaofeng and The Flowers of War actress Ni Ni together since they confirmed their relationship on China’s Twitter called Weibo.

Fans of Feng Shaofeng and Yang Mi (affectionately dubbed the Feng-Mi couple) who co-starred in time-travel romance series Gong/Heartlock Jade Palace were heartbroken when Yang Mi admitted she was dating Hawick. But now, you can root for this fresh looking new couple!

*I usually refrain from posting relationship news because good-lordy knows how long these last. But Feng-Ni looks so sweet together, I couldn’t resist.

*Feel like doing a fashion post on celebrity airport fashion now ^^

Hu Ge promotes “The Myth” and shows his funny and entertaining personality

Hu Ge 胡歌 is one of those actors that I prefer on an interview than in a television series. He does not fare too good as far as dramas-wise. However, in real life, the 30-year old actor seems to have a very down-to-earth, well-spoken, charming personality that would make him a fantastic entertainer (like Zhu Zi Xiao). Thats why, when I chanced upon this interview on Fei Chang Jiu Ju Li/非常久距离 he did in 2010 (not that long ago guys!) for his drama The Myth, I had this strong urge to share it with everyone. Here, he shares with Li Jing, who is the host, his childhood and school years and ideal girl types. Hu Ge has always struck me as handsome, funny, a fabulous speaker, and has fantastic chemistry with costars like Tang Yan, Ariel Lin, Ady An, and Liu Shi Shi.

TaecGui Couple Meets Nichkhun (WHAT IN THE WHAT?)

Screen Shot 2013-06-15 at 5.26.36 PM

On Global We Got Married, Taecyeon and Gui Gui finally meet 2pm member Nichkhun at their house-warming party. If you’ve been watching WGM, recall that Gui Gui commented on Nichkhun’s good face (but also Taec’s nice body) when asked about her ideal type of guy:

Ever since the first episode, Gui Gui has been making it an ongoing joke to the hilariously entertaining dismay of her husband-to-be, Taecyeon. Knowing Gui Gui’s sense of humor from Taiwanese shows she’s been on, it’s obvious she mentions Nichkhun to tease and to get a reaction from Taec. It has made a lot of fans wonder, what if Nichkhun actually showed up on Global WGM. What would Taec and Gui Gui’s reactions be?! Well that episode has finally arrived! Nichkhun arrives to the housewarming party along with 2pm members Woohyung (yes, its Jason from Dream High!) and Joonho. And Gui Gui could not contain her surprise and delight. Meanwhile, Taec sighs in surrender.

What I really like is how how, after her initial delight at seeing Nichkhun, Gui Gui shows her respect for her husband and doesn’t try to embarrass him in front of his buddies. When asked by the other members how she felt about Nichkhun now, she says “Oppa and I are married now.” Aww.

By the way, she makes the boys do the “10 out of 10” dance in this episode. Sooo funny.

1. I’m really good with video editing programs. I have spent more than half the time I need to marathon a drama on Sony Vegas Pro to edit video clips, and nah I just do this for family and friends, not professionally. Anyone who needs a video editor for the summer, you can hire me.

2. My first TV drama was Eloquent Ji Xiao Lan. I watched it with my parents and stayed up until 4 the next morning. The plot is about a quirky and super smart scholar who is also a high official of the Qing dynasty who meets two 女侠 and totes around his trusty cigar as he embarks on adventures (sometimes with Emperor Xianlong) to put a stop to corrupt officials who harm peasants. And he gets romantically involved with more women than you can imagine. Nix that last part.

3. I buy a lot of lip products. Never can have enough. Out of all the lipsticks, lip butters, lipgloss, and tints out there, I find that lip balms are what I end up reaching for the most.

4. I can’t sing, but I like to record myself singing. Do you do this too…? I used to really enjoy ballads/slightly sad songs (think: What Hurts the Most or Beautiful Soul) but I’ve since moved to upbeat and fun songs.

5. High tech transportation and gadgets fascinate me. Knowing this, no one should be surprised that I’m so looking forward to Google’s GLASS and China’s eco-friendly straddle bus (which btw, will probably not be around for a long while given that it was announced in the news years ago -_-)

6. I’m a proud bilingual! I am proficient in both English and Mandarin Chinese. And I’m also half decent at French, somewhat decent at Japanese, and I can guess without subtitles what Koreans in kdramas are saying (you are free to call bs on that btw haha, because I’m sure anyone can get the gist of what they’re saying just from watching their expressions and intonations in their voice)

7. Is it just me, or are half-Asians smoking hot? Nope, I think somebody agrees with me. Hehe. Read More…

Chinese Celebrities Dive into TV Show “Stars in Danger”

Screen Shot 2013-06-12 at 9.17.11 PM

Featuring adorable little athletes and birthday celebrations and what in the world…? In popular Chinese show “Stars in Danger” 星跳水立方, famous Chinese celebrities train for weeks to compete for top place in a diving competition. This time, these entertainers are not by themselves, but will be paired with real child athletes in synchronized diving. Overall, this episode was really fun to watch! You get to see Yu Haoming onscreen since his accident from 2010 and recovering pretty well. Singers Pan Chen (I think from Super Girls competition) and Fu Xinbo (from BoBo) are in this episode as well. I think the highlight of the show is just amazing in how the stars bonded with their partners and the camaraderie. One lucky girl athlete even had a birthday song sung to her during the competition.
