2013 Chinese TV Drama Awards Ceremony: Fashion Post
Anhui TV Channel has just hosted this year’s drama awards: To start off, this is purely a fashion post, since I’m not sure exactly who got what awards, I’m not going to mention any of them until the video of the awards ceremony comes out/when I get to watch it. Let’s start the fashion madness. Keep in mind I have no experience in fashion analyzing so my comments will be pretty rudimentary at best. If all fails, just enjoy the pretty pictures!
Joe Chen (Chen Qiao En) is decked in what looks like a fancy romper. Or a strapless dress with pants attached. I love it! Chen’s entire look is fun and gorgeous, from her stylized but still voluminous hair, to the fabulous maroon color of her outfit, to the oriental-flower detailing. And the pockets! Omg, so cute. But I’m not sure what is up with her face makeup; it seems like shade darker than her body, which looks a bit weird in photos.
Jiang Kai Tong (middle) is dressed up for… er Halloween? Going as a Disney princess? And I don’t know if Li Yifeng is going as her prince with his comical bright, royal-blue suit (maybe some chicks will dig it tho)… but with that hair part?
Hands down, the best. Not sure if it’s the outfit, more like it’s the confidence and her smile! Outfit: Qi Wei dons a v-cut dress that is classic in the front, but ties up into a bow in the back! Even more so than that, she looks so so gorgeous with her simple makeup, pulled back hairstyle and radiant smile. So chic and classy! I’m sure that will catch Kim Woo Bin’s attention…. who happens to be her seat buddy.
Wallace Chung is looking pretty snazzy to this year’s awards carpet, decked in a fun patterned, black-and-white suit. Wish the pants were more toned down though. He looks good sans the scruff.
Tang Yan, I swear, she can make any atrocious and unwearable outfit look decent. That said, I can’t really appreciate the ridiculous white dress, but did like the cinched waist and how Tang Yan still managed to look like an snow goddess in it (and make her neck look even more long). I’m glad she decided to tone down her makeup and keep her hair and shoes simple to balance it out. The bright lips are love!! She looks wide-awake and ready to rock the red carpet.
Wow, sorry, but this was just…. horrific. Me no likey. If you are wondering who she is, I’m pretty sure her character became the wife of the Tenth prince in Bu Bu Jing Xin.
Like Tang Yan, the outfit Ying’er wore definitely brings out her good figure, like her shoulders. Unlike Tang, she wore a simple white dress that looks good as well as making the wearer look good. But I’m seeing a pattern here…. bold lips, statement earrings, simple hairstyles, and white (or classic) dresses. Let’s see if there’s more!
Well, at least…. this is interesting. Yan Kuan and his wife (who’s name slips my mind) are an absolutely gorgeous couple, but man. I am not feeling that bow tie (it looks so out of place!) nor the green lace pants. Also, not feeling the dress that wifey is wearing. WTF they look like infestation or moss or something! Anyone else feeling the same way?
Ooh lala. It’s the beautiful Zhao Liying, but no Chen Xiao as arm candy? Whaaaa. Her dress is very nudy and toned down but sadly her makeup wasn’t exciting either.
Jimmy Lin looking ever so young. I swear he looks the same like 20 years ago. Just check the photos if you don’t believe me! He’s so great on the reality show “Where Are We Going, Dad?”, he seems like an awesome father to his son Kimi.
Liu Tao looks sophisticated and matronly in a clean, white, floor-length dress (but again… boring because there’s already like a bunch of white dress-wearers to the awards). Next to her, is Rong Mo Mo! Hehe. From Huan Zhu Ge Ge!!! Favorite veteran actress. She’s so cute, always ending up going to awards ceremonies with a Huan Zhu costar, like last time with Ruby Lin and now with Liu Tao (though Liu was in Huan Zhu 3…. but it still counts!).
Gotta save the best for last, ya know? Chen Xiao. Is it me or has he aged a lot since summer? Or is that too much makeup caked on his face? His retro hair and expression reminds me of serious dramatic actors taken from photos in the 1970s-80s. The triangular print on his blazer does add a touch of fun though…. against the overall seriousness of the picture. Somebody! Tickle him!
